The TOFT Studio HQ is located on the side of the picturesque Draycote reservoir and is conveniently placed on the axis of three counties Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, within shouting distance of the M45, M1 and M6.
OPEN EVERY DAY 10am-4pm (including bank holidays)
TOFT HQ is where all the action happens - from product design and workshops through to social media and the dispatch of your parcels. We're located right in the centre of the UK in Warwickshire, very near to the borders of both Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, making it easy to get to from just about anywhere. We aim to be a destination for knitters and crocheters from across the country, whether it's to buy wool, seek some creative advice, or simply to enjoy a barista-made coffee and a delicious piece of cake. Our modern studio space also has a dedicated workshop area where you can come to learn and perfect your craft in the good company of others. Take a look at our upcoming workshops and events to find one that suits you. Whilst you're here don't forget to pick up one of our studio exclusive products, and feel free to take a walk around the farm to visit our herd of alpacas. We're open every day from 10am until 4pm.
Whilst you are at TOFT please feel free to take a walk around the farm to see our herd of resident alpacas. Farm maps are available from the Studio and we have a 45 minute walking trail that can be followed, although please note that it is not wheelchair accessible as there is some uneven ground and steep slopes along the way. We have around 150 alpacas on site, which remain out in the fields all year grazing the grass so you're bound to spot a few in the fields as you walk around. There are two breeds of alpaca: the popular huacaya, and the less known suri. Huacayas make up 96% of the global population of alpacas, but here at TOFT you'll be able to see examples of both breeds in our fields. Our alpacas have their toenails clipped every three months and are sheared once a year, usually in early May before the hot weather arrives. During shearing, each alpaca will cut 1-3kg of fleece in total, but not all of this will be able to be spun into yarns you would knit with. The coarser parts of the fleece are often used to make duvets or other filliing material, leaving only the finest parts to be used for yarn. You can come to see the annual shearing of our alpacas at TOFT, just keep an eye on our events page for details.
COFFEE AND CAKE
During your visit, we want to make sure your time with us is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Make sure you try our selection of delicious locally baked cakes with a cup of tea or coffee while you browse our shop (why not try our 'alpacaccino?'). What's more, your first hot drink is on us with any order collection or purchase made*.
Toft Lane is located off the A426 just outside Dunchurch on the road towards Southam. If you are heading out of Dunchurch, Toft Lane is the first turning on the right after the M45 motorway bridge. We are a short hop from Draycote Water, and if coming up from the reservoir Toft Lane is a left turning at the top of Toft Hill as you approach Dunchurch.
From Dunchurch Village walk about a kilometre passed the Old Thatched Cottage and the Fish and Chip Shop in the direction of Southam. You will cross both ends of Sandford Way and then over the M45 Bridge. Toft Lane is on your right, and the drive and entrance to the shop is signposted Toft Manor, to the right as the lane turns left. From of Draycote Water you can see the alpacas from the side of the reservoir at the North East tip. Here you will find a set of double wooden gates and a small footpath gate. Go through this gate and follow the footpath up the hill to the right. Here you will be walking with alpacas on your left up towards Toft Manor. At the stile or gate turn left onto Toft Lane and you will find the entrance to Toft Manor and the Shop on your right on the corner as the lane turns right.
Talks to interested groups and parties are available by arrangement and all visitors are welcome to take in the view and take a walk to meet the alpacas. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.
If you are planning to visit us as a large group please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01788810626 in advance where possible, so that we can ensure your experience is every bit enjoyable as it should be.
